What fireworks are legal?

North Carolina has restrictions on the types and ages of fireworks that are legal in the state12345. Fireworks that explode or leave the ground, such as firecrackers, bottle rockets, Roman candles, and aerial fireworks, are illegal125. Fireworks that stay on the ground, are handheld, or produce smoke or noise, such as sparklers, snakes, and poppers, are legal134. You must be 16 or older to buy or use fireworks in North Carolina13. Violating the fireworks laws can result in a fine of up to $500 and up to six months of imprisonment12.

1. Can I have a grill on my deck?
A grill is not allowed on decks of dwellings of more than a single or two family dwelling. In addition, a grill that is producing a hazardous condition may also be considered prohibited.
2. Can I have a bonfire on the beach?
There is no open burning allowed in Town Limits.
3. Can I use a fire pit or Chimera?
Yes. It must be enclosed and emit no sparks or embers into the air.
