WRIGHTSVILLE BEACH, NC – The U.S Army Corps of Engineers, McKim and Creed, and Esri will be completing Coastal Zone Mapping in Wrightsville Beach on Monday, May 16, 2016. The mapping will be performed using a drone, or UAS (Unmanned Aircraft System).
To minimize the risk of danger to beach patrons, there will be no pedestrian access to portions of the beach on May 16th between the hours of:
1. 8:00 am to 8:30 am – No access from Beach Access 37 (Crystal Pier) to Beach Access 44 (Jack Parker Blvd.).
2. 8:30 am to 9:30 am – No access from the Southern end of Wrightsville Beach from Access 44 (Jack Parker Blvd.) to the Coast Guard Station.
3. 9:30 am to 10:30 am – No access to the beach within 300 ft of either side of the Masonboro Inlet Jetties.
