[ARCHIVED] WB Specialty License Plates

Plate Sample for Website

We're excited to announce that the Town of Wrightsville Beach is seeking approval for a Wrightsville Beach Specialty License Plate. The process is lengthy but we're sure you'll want to place your order and get on the list for a new Wrightsville Beach plate. One of the requirements for approval is a minimum initial order of 300 plates. If you wish to purchase a plate, you must complete the application form, print, sign on the signature line, and submit it with your payment to the Town by 5:00 p.m. February 1, 2019.

Then, with the minimum 300 orders collected, the Town will submit payment for the plates to the North Carolina Department of Motor Vehicles (NCDMV) along with our application for the WB Specialty License Plate category. The NCDMV will submit the Town's request for the Wrightsville Beach specialty plate to the NC General Assembly for approval. If approved, the Town will submit to the NCDMV the list of purchasers and their applications. The NCDMV will in turn issue directly to each purchaser their new Town of Wrightsville Beach Specialty License Plate within 180 days of legislative approval. If the Town's application is not approved, all fees paid will be refunded.

Click here for the Application for a Town of Wrightsville Beach Specialty License Plate. Complete the form, print it, and sign on the signature line. You may either mail it to the Park Office (PO Box 626, Wrightsville Beach, NC 28480) with your check or money order or you may drop it off at the Park Office where you may choose to pay by credit card. The Park Office is located behind Town Hall in the side room of the Recreation Center (enter underneath the awning). Applications will be processed in the order in which they are received.

We will keep you informed via email during the process as there can be delays since the approvals are contingent upon legislation and the NC General Assembly's schedule. And remember, we must have an initial order of 300 plates by 5:00 p.m. February 1, 2019 to be eligible to submit our application to the NCDMV.

If you have any questions, please call Katie Ryan at (910) 256 - 7925 or email kryan@towb.org.
